'Clean Buttons': A Navigation Icon Set for Kolor Panotour Pro v2

IMPORTANT: See note at the bottom of this post re: compatibility with PTP v2.2 and earlier, and PTP v2.3 and later.

I recently started using Kolor Panotour Pro v2 for my commercial work over at Firstshowing.ca. I quite like the software, but missed having a nice, simple, clean icon set for the navigation controls. As a little holiday project I decided to put together a new set loosely based on the stock 'iControl Bar' plugin and decided that I would release it to the wider community for those that missed a clean look as I did. I am not offering any warranty nor support for the set, so please test very carefully to ensure that it meets your needs.

It can be used in both your personal and professional projects, but I would ask that if you make any money using them that you consider making a donation via Paypal to alan@shisko.com Thanks!

Simple install instructions are included in the ZIP file linked to below, and you can view a sample site that uses the navigation buttons HERE. I've also uploaded a short video install tutorial that also documents usage for the set on YouTube, available HERE.

HERE'S THE IMPORTANT NOTE: Use the link for v91 below if you're using Kolor Panotour Pro v2.2 or EARLIER. Use the link for v93 below for PTP v2.3 or LATER. Difference between the two is to fix a change in how tool tips show up.

Alan, thanks for this! I just check out the possibilities to change the Panotour look and your package helped me well to understand quickly how to alter some things.

Stefan,

Yes, I found it reasonably simple to put together. It would take some time to build the XML from scratch, but using a previous plugin as a starting point helped out greatly. The design took way more time than the implementation.

"Design thinking" taking longer than the actual execution technical wise is something i can sing some songs of Alan :D

Alan,
These are great. Thanks for your effort here. One thing, after activating the "Share this Tour" icon, it appears that the icon doesn't link to anything. The really nice "share palette" on your example site appears to be missing from the set and the "share" icon is inactive?

oops, nevermind, what was I thinking, the tour has to be on line for the share button to work!

Yes, their implementation was a little wonky, but you've also got to select the 'share' button in the 'Clean Buttons plugin, plus move the 'Social Share' button from the 'Viewers' plugin menu into your style workspace as well. That threw me for a loop. Share seems to work for me when in local mode?

Thanks for this! very nice and clean!

I need to create a custom animated hot spot for a client.

Similar to the "metallic i" info button sequnce, but the i stays still and the circle around it fades slowly from grey to whte.

I tried to re create it based on the .png file but the result was "wobbly" as the i must not have been perfectly placed at the correct height in the sequence.

What is the trick to make it work and line up properly?

Could I hire you to create such a spot if I cannot achive it in a timely manner?

Thanks! and again nice work.

Lenny,

It's wonky to get it to work, for sure. I used an existing set as the basis for this one. I'd suggest posting your query on the Kolor boards, I received a lot of help from there.

Alan

Is there any reason why the tooltips are not working? I have even combed through the code and I can't figure out why it does not have tooltips. Any help? I love these buttons!!!

Not sure exactly what you mean by 'tooltips', I'm afraid... if it's a hover over to see what the action will do then... I haven't a clue!

Yes, the "hover over" popup to see what each button does is not working (2.3 RC1). Panotour calls these "tooltips". Several people complained that my new buttons don't have these tooltips. Your demos have them but my installed version does not display them. Wondering if you have seen this before with your clean buttons.

Apparently the plugin needs to be updated for the latest version of Panotour. This is why the help tooltips are not showing. It would be SUPER if you could take a minute to do this!

Bob,

If you get this, the button set has been updated to fix tool tips. Take a look at the original post for downloads.

There is one small update which would be helpful...

The ability to use the global tooltip style by adding a "use custom tooltips style" like the other control bars.

By unchecking this it defaults to the global style to match the project better. The tooltips in the plugin do not have text shadow an the global text feature does.

Thanks again for these beautiful buttons!

Can you tell me how the folks over at dubai360.com are able to get the picture of the pano to appear on mouse hover?

Thank you!

Nope :) Looks like a custom job. Someone over on the forums at Kolor.com should be able to assist, should you wish.

Hi Alan, I'm agree with you about the kind of buttons that comes with the program, most of them graphically unusable because a very specyfic focus. So your work is quite nice and the result is a generic and very graphically usable. Thanks!!!!

Hi, Alan
I'm mara, right now I'm creating my Kontrollbar for Panotourpro, following the directions of the site, and taking a cue from your folder. I prepared the buttons in .png right in three different stages for animation. I managed to insert the folder in the Program, and in the Controllbar-Bibliothek I found the button, with a problem: the buttons are just like I did them the three stages did not join. Can you tell me how I can solve this problem?

Be patient I have no experience in the industry, I started from that month.

I give you back.
Hugs
Mara

Mara,

I'm afraid that I don't understand the problem that you are having. Everything that I know about installation and use is in the Youtube video link.

Thanks a lot to the rapid answer,
I have the PNG with the same programm created, and I got inside the Panotour mx Controlbar with a black background, like this , I give you a link with a screenshort.

( file:///Users/andreremark/Desktop/Bildschirmfoto%202017-12-20%20um%2010.22.13.png )

I created the controlbar with a trasparens background.

Can you say me why?

Thank a lot again.
